Volunteers Needed as Sentries

Our walkathon route flows against the traffic – from Point A (Car park at Jalan 10/7) to Point B (Car Park at Lorong Timur). See route map. This means our walkers will be walking against the traffic flow. We are targeting for more than 1,000 walkers.

The Traffic Police will only send 2 traffic policemen to be stationed at the main junctions only. As such we need volunteers to be stationed along the route to see to the safety of the walkers, that they do not strayed onto the traffic, that walkers keep to the inner lanes and do not take short-cuts.

There will be an ambulance on standby following along at the back of the walkers.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (M) Sdn Bhd is collaborating with Persatuan SLE Malaysia (PSLEM) in a Fundraising Project for our Lupus Resource Centre via their Caring Cup initiatives.

There will be two events coming up in the month of July in connection with this project:

1. Wednesday, 9th July 2014 – Blue Tiger Tea Launch at CB&TL Outlet in Bangsar Village (KL), 10.30am to 12.00noon

At this launch, there will be Story Telling Session and Product Presentation by David de Candia followed by a brief Lupus talk by President of PSLEM, Dr Benjamin Cheah with a Q & A session. The PSLEM team will also be there to help raise awareness for Lupus.

2. Friday, 11th July 2014 – Our Tea Master, David de Candia’s Visit to Persatuan SLE Malaysia, Petaling Jaya, 2.00pm to 4.00pm

For this afternoon visit, the Tea Master, David de Candia and his daughter, who is a Lupus patient will be present at our office in Petaling Jaya. There will be a tea appreciation session.

We cordially invite Lupus patients especially the children and those in their teens as well as young adults to join us at the above events.
