PSLEM Central\u2019s DeepaRaya \u201copen house\u201d at its Petaling Jaya office on Sunday, 11 October 2009, saw a total of 50 guests, comprising SLE patients and their family members, enjoying good food and good fun in one another\u2019s company.<\/p>\n

The get-together was also graced by our very own celebrity dance couple, actress Anita Baharom and her husband Mohd Ismadi Ismail, and their daughter. Anita and Mohd Ismadi, who will be participating in Astro Ria\u2019s Sehati Berdansa 3<\/em> charity dance competition, have selected PSLEM as their charity.<\/p>\n

Ms Cheah Geik Kim, a PSLEM member who used to have her own cake shop, demonstrated how to make chilled cheesecake, a dessert which does not require baking. The mouth-watering demonstration got everyone very hungry; luckily the food arrived \u2026 just in the nick of time! In addition to lontong<\/em>, nasi impit<\/em>, beehoon tomyam<\/em>, putu mayam<\/em>, kueh<\/em>, and ice-cream, we also enjoyed delicious ayam rendang<\/em> contributed by Puan Murina Pawanteh while Makcik Ramlah, Norhayati Zainuddin\u2019s mum, brought rambutans from her \u201ckebun\u201d.<\/p>\n

A special lucky draw with prizes for every guest drew hilarious laughter, especially when the ladies laid claim to the feminine gifts received by their husbands. It proved to be a happy ending to the simple but enjoyable get-together.<\/p>\n
