Walk-a-Payung 2009 (WAP 2009), which will be organised this year by Persatuan SLE Malaysia (PSLEM)\u2019s recently formed Kuching Chapter, is a 4-km walkathon with umbrellas starting from the Amphitheatre in Jalan Budaya, Kuching, Sarawak on Sunday, 13 December at 8:00 a.m.<\/p>\n

The objective of WAP 2009 is to raise awareness of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) as a disease where the body\u2019s immune system turns against its own healthy tissues. Using the umbrella to walk is to create awareness that people with SLE have to avoid the sun.<\/p>\n

Just donate RM20.00 to the work of the Kuching Chapter and get a WAP 2009 t-shirt. Wear your WAP 2009 t-shirt to the Amphitheatre on 13 December to collect your free WAP 2009 umbrella and cap and walk. The collection and registration counters open at 7:00 a.m. on 13 December. Free breakfast and drinks will be provided after the walkathon.<\/p>\n
