A total of 1,088 participants walking with umbrellas in the vicinity of Sunway Pyramid this morning certainly helped to raise awareness that SLE patients have to avoid the sun. Their participation in the Walk-a-Payung 2008 event this morning also helped the Persatuan SLE Malaysia (PSLEM) to break its own record in the Malaysia Book of Records\u2019 \u201cLargest Participation of Walkers with Umbrellas\u201d category. The total of 1,088 participants topped last year\u2019s total of 727 participants by almost 50%.<\/p>\n

This morning\u2019s walk was led by State Assemblyman for Subang Jaya YB Hannah Yeoh, PSLEM\u2019s President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Esha Das Gupta, and Walk-a-Payung Organising Committee Chairman Datin Rahmah Kassim, as well as two special guests all the way from Singapore \u2013 MTV VJ Twins, May and Choy.<\/p>\n
